This Legal notice governs access to, browsing and use of the website etuning-app.com, its associated pages and the information published about the eTuning service.
1. Identification of the owner
The website and the eTuning service are managed by eTuning.
Contact email: etuning.app@gmail.com.
Where legally required, additional identifying details of the owner may be provided or completed through the official contact channels.
2. Purpose of the website
The website provides information about eTuning, its applications, licenses, compatibility, technical functions, guides, documentation and resources related to the configuration of compatible e-bike systems.
The information published is for informational, technical and commercial purposes. It does not constitute an official manufacturer certification, approval, authorization to ride on public roads or a compatibility guarantee for all models, firmwares, regions, bicycles, motors, interfaces or configurations.
3. Nature of the eTuning service
eTuning is an independent tool that may allow certain technical parameters to be read, saved or modified when the connected system permits it.
The available functions may vary depending on the model, motor generation, bicycle configuration, installed components, connection method, interface used, technical restrictions of the system and changes made by third parties.
Detection of a bicycle, motor or component does not imply that all functions are compatible or that all operations can be completed correctly.
4. Use at the user’s own responsibility
The use of eTuning is intended for users who understand that modifying technical parameters may affect the behavior of the bicycle or configured system.
The user uses the website, information, applications and eTuning functions at their own responsibility. Before applying any change, the user must check that the configuration is appropriate, safe, legal and compatible with their specific case.
eTuning does not replace the user’s judgment, the manufacturer’s instructions, inspection by a qualified workshop, a technical inspection or compliance with applicable regulations.
5. Speed, regulations and use on public roads
The user is solely responsible for ensuring that any setting applied through eTuning complies with the regulations in force in their country, region, municipality and specific place of use.
Modifying parameters directly or indirectly related to speed, region, assistance, power, wheel circumference or other settings may alter the legal classification of an electric bicycle or vehicle.
In many countries, an e-bike that exceeds certain legal assistance or speed limits may require approval, registration, insurance, a permit, mandatory helmet, technical inspections or other obligations.
eTuning does not authorize, recommend or promote the use of illegal configurations on public roads. If a configuration exceeds the limits allowed for riding as a conventional electric bicycle, the user must limit its use to private areas, closed circuits, technical tests, competition or environments where such use is legally permitted.
eTuning does not determine or certify whether a specific configuration is legal in the user’s location. The user must inform themselves before riding with any modified configuration.
6. Prohibited uses
The user agrees not to use eTuning or the information on the website for illegal, unsafe, unauthorized purposes or purposes contrary to applicable regulations.
- eTuning must not be used to breach traffic, approval, road safety or technical regulations.
- The user must not ride on public roads with configurations that are not permitted.
- The user must not modify bicycles, motors or third-party systems without sufficient authorization.
- The user must not hide modifications from owners, buyers, end users, workshops, insurers, authorities or technical inspections.
- The user must not manipulate a bicycle in a way that could put the user, third parties or property at risk.
- The user must not attempt to bypass security systems, legal restrictions or technical controls contrary to the law.
- The user must not copy, manipulate, resell, distribute, reverse engineer or attempt to bypass the licensing, activation or protection systems of eTuning.
7. Technical risks
Modifying technical parameters may involve risks, including communication failures, interruptions during writing, USB or Bluetooth disconnections, errors caused by defective drivers, cables, interfaces or components, incompatibilities, parameters not accepted by the system, temporary or permanent loss of configurations, unexpected behavior, need for subsequent technical intervention, loss of warranty or denial of coverage.
The user must ensure that the computer, phone, bicycle, motor, interface, cables and power supply are stable before making changes. The user must not disconnect cables, turn off the device, turn off the bicycle or interrupt the process while changes are being applied.
8. Riding safety
Any modification that affects the response of the system may alter riding behavior.
The user must test any change in a safe, controlled and legal environment before using the bicycle under normal conditions. The user must exercise extreme caution if they modify speed, assistance, power, torque, assistance start, assistance cut-off, dynamic behavior or similar parameters.
9. Warranty, approval and insurance
The use of eTuning and the modification of technical parameters may affect the warranty of the manufacturer, seller, distributor or workshop.
Certain modifications may cause manufacturers, workshops, insurers, authorities or technical inspections to reject repairs, warranties, claims, coverage or validations.
The user is responsible for checking the warranty, insurance, approval, maintenance and use conditions before applying any modification.
eTuning does not guarantee that any modification will be accepted by manufacturers, workshops, insurers, authorities or technical inspections.
10. Compatibility and third-party changes
Compatibility may depend on hardware, system version, previous configuration, region, installed components, interface used, connection mode, cabling and internal system restrictions.
Manufacturers of compatible systems may modify firmware, protocols, restrictions or technical behavior at any time. These changes may limit functions that were previously available or prevent certain operations.
eTuning does not control these external changes and does not guarantee future compatibility with all systems, versions or configurations.
11. Licenses, purchases and payments
eTuning may offer free functions and paid functions. Paid functions may require purchase, license, activation or verification.
Unless otherwise stated, a paid license is associated with a specific motor identified by its serial number. Purchasing a license does not guarantee that all bicycles, motors, firmwares or configurations will allow all available functions to be used.
Payments may be processed by secure external providers. When payment is made through an external provider, that provider will be responsible for processing the transaction, payment data and its own terms.
Nothing in this Legal notice limits the non-waivable rights that may correspond to the consumer under applicable law.
12. No affiliation with Shimano

eTuning is not affiliated, associated, authorized, certified, sponsored, distributed, approved or endorsed by Shimano Inc., Shimano Europe, Shimano North America, Shimano STEPS, E-TUBE or any entity related to Shimano.
eTuning does not act on behalf of Shimano, does not represent Shimano and has no commercial, technical, official or institutional relationship with Shimano.

13. Third-party trademarks and intellectual property
All third-party trademarks, trade names, models, logos and references belong to their respective owners.
The mention of third parties on the website, applications, documentation or commercial communications does not imply affiliation, sponsorship, authorization, approval or official certification, unless expressly stated otherwise.
The user must not interpret any compatibility reference as an official certification from the manufacturer.
14. eTuning intellectual property
The website, applications, texts, designs, interface, documentation, structure, brand, graphics, logic, technical base, licensing system and other eTuning elements are protected by intellectual and industrial property rights.
Their unauthorized reproduction, distribution, public communication, transformation, extraction, copying or exploitation is prohibited.
15. Content, guides and documentation
The guides, articles, tables, compatibility tools and published documentation may be updated, modified or removed at any time.
eTuning attempts to keep information up to date, but does not guarantee that it is free of errors, omissions, inaccuracies, external changes or differences between real configurations.
The user must verify relevant information before applying technical changes or making purchase, configuration, repair or use decisions.
16. External links
The website may contain links to third-party sites, app stores, payment platforms, documentation, services or content.
eTuning does not control those external sites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, terms, privacy policies, cookies or operation.
17. Data protection and cookies
The processing of personal data and the use of cookies are regulated in the corresponding policies published on the website.
The user must review the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy before using functions involving purchase, activation, support, contact, log submission or processing of technical or personal data.
18. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, eTuning shall not be liable for damages, losses, claims, penalties, breakdowns, loss of warranty, loss of approval, fines, immobilization, accidents, injuries, repair costs, loss of use, loss of data, loss of profit or indirect damages arising from access to the website, use of the published information or use of the applications.
This limitation includes incorrect use, illegal use, settings applied by the user, modifications to speed, assistance, power, region, wheel or other settings, use on public roads of non-permitted configurations, disconnections, power failures, communication failures, defective hardware, firmware changes, third-party restrictions, tampering, reverse engineering, unauthorized use and breach of this Legal notice or applicable terms.
Liabilities that, by mandatory law, cannot be excluded or limited shall remain only to the extent strictly required by that law.
19. Use on third-party bicycles or systems
If the user uses eTuning on a bicycle, motor, system or component that they do not own, they declare that they have sufficient authorization to do so.
The user shall be responsible to the owner, buyer, end user, workshop, insurer, authority or any third party for the consequences arising from the modifications applied.
In the event of sale, transfer, loan or delivery of a modified bicycle, the user is responsible for adequately informing the new user or owner of any relevant change.
20. Professional or workshop use
If eTuning is used in a professional context, workshop, shop, repair, configuration for customers or provision of services to third parties, the professional user shall be responsible for having authorization from the owner, informing the customer of changes and risks, verifying the legality of the configuration, documenting the modifications made and not delivering bicycles configured for illegal use on public roads.
eTuning assumes no responsibility for services provided by third parties using its applications or documentation.
